The initiative began in November 2015 with a group of friends who wanted an English-speaking Rotaract club. The charter ceremony took place on 5 March 2016 in the Baroque Hall of the Timișoara Art Museum.
The anniversary magazine records 17 founding members of four nationalities and support from seven sponsors. Friendship, international connections and personal development have shaped the projects from the beginning.

communityWith Look Inside
Santa’s Presents
Together with the Look Inside Association, club members helped deliver over 500 packages to children in need. The gifts were based on the children’s letters, and deliveries took place over six days with support from sponsors.
An adoption fair with the Speranța Animalelor shelter, encouraging people to give dogs a home and helping to tackle abandonment. The animals were vaccinated, and some basic care supplies were provided with each adoption.
This Christmas project began in 2018, and the magazine describes two consecutive editions. Members decorated a Christmas tree with children from a residential care home in Timișoara, brought gifts, baked cookies and spent time together.
Ahead of Easter, the club organised a chocolate egg hunt at Kinderzukunft – the Rudolf Walther Foundation. Children received prizes, and the gathering continued with games in the foundation’s courtyard.
A mural project that brought colour to a building at Colegiul Național Bănățean in Timișoara. Club members set out to create a more welcoming environment for pupils and encourage their imagination.
Through its Italian members, the club introduced the Drops Bracelet campaign to the Romanian Rotaract community. Bracelet purchases supported the Rotary District 2080 initiative benefiting End Polio Now.
In 2019, the club organised a RYLA event for other Rotaract clubs. The magazine describes a weekend of leadership and public speaking sessions led by certified trainers, alongside training in project management, time management and teamwork.
The collaboration with Rotaract Utrecht included sports competitions for children, a visit by the Dutch partners to Timișoara and a trip by Cosmopolitan members to the Netherlands. There, members helped the partner club renovate a food bank.
An online gathering organised by Rotaract Groningen International, where partner clubs shared traditional recipes. Cosmopolitan members joined this cultural exchange through an Instagram live session.
The magazine also records the story of Interact Club Timișoara Cosmopolitan, founded on 20 October 2018.
